There are a ton of great physical education resources online, but it takes a lot of time to sort through all the information and find the "best" resources. On this website you will find a wide variety of elementary physical education games and activities, including warm-up games, cool-down games, cooperative games, tag games, and dance activities/games. I have spent countless hours and nights searching for good physical education games. They also appreciate a good storyline attached to each game. They love the excitement of dimming the lights, listening to spooky music while playing a variety of games with a Halloween twist. Verbal review of what each Food Group does for the body as well as examples from each food group.The purpose of this website is to provide a comprehensive, online physical education resource designed specifically for elementary teachers. Each year, around October 15th, my students in 1st-5th grades begin asking for Halloween games in PE. Students may be given different locomotor skills to use when playing the game. Most kids like tag because it is much more exciting than other forms of exercise like running laps or lengths of a sporting field. It allows children to get plenty of exercise while participating in an activity they find enjoyable. In freeze tag, one player is ‘it’ and tried to catch everybody else. Tag” – Foods from the Fruit Group help wounds heal (Vitamin C). Choose a grassy area and provide a small ball for them to try to get and get into goalposts. Based on your class size, create a few groups. Set Up: As students enter the gym, hand a scooter to about two-thirds of the class. ![]() What makes this scooter game awesome is that you can use it for any grade level. The person being rescued now becomes the new rescuer and the person who gave away his carrot to save his classmate is now trying to keep away from the taggers. Noodle Hockey Give each student a different color pool noodle and allow them to play a safe game of noodle hockey. This is an awesome PE game that you can use as an instant activity or as the main activity for the day. When a rescuer sees a classmate who has lost his vision, he hands the classmate the carrot to replenish the Vitamin A. ![]() The rescuers hold pictures of carrots or other vegetables high in Vitamin A. When a student is tagged by the tagger, the student must stop and place his hands over his eyes because all the Vitamin A has been “zapped” out of his body by the tagger. “I Can See Tag” – Foods from the Vegetable group help the eyes see better (Vitamin A). Once you have played one of the games it will be easy to instruct the others!ġ. All of the tag games are similar, just change what the tagger represents, what the rescuers represent, and what those being tagged must do to be rescued.
